Are you starting to feel like you’re the one in the room that needs therapy?

Your calling as a therapist or counselor means actively giving of yourself every day: you engage your body, heart, and mind in your work. And as fulfilling and satisfying as that is, it can also be a recipe for burnout and overwhelm.

You are willing to do whatever it takes to support your clients, but that commitment is starting to take its toll. You are:

  • Feeling stuck in your work

  • Not enjoying your practice like you thought you would (or once did)

  • Doubting your skills and your ability to help your clients

  • Neglecting good self-care

It’s hard to ask our clients to do work we haven’t done ourselves.
But when we do, we’re both better for it.

 Who It’s For

Therapy for therapists is right for you if you’re a pre-licensed or licensed clinician who wants to show up more authentically in every area of life, not just as a clinician.

You’re looking for someone who understands the complexity of this work and is willing to challenge you, see you for who you are, and really examine the process to uncover the patterns that are keeping you stuck.

We’ll work together to help you overcome the feelings of burnout, overwhelm, and imposter syndrome you are feeling, so you can show up more confidently in your relationships, your life, and your work.

Who It’s Not For

Therapy for therapists is about working on yourself within the context of what you do, but not bound by it. This is a space for you to invest in your own self-care and self-exploration with someone who understands you and the work we do.

If you are just wanting validation or a place to vent, I am not the therapist for you. Therapy is about disrupting the norms, uncovering the trauma, and unraveling those tightly wound stories we keep telling ourselves that keep us stuck. Submitting to the process and being willing to sit with the discomfort is critical for change to occur.

Why therapy for other therapists?

After practicing for over 15 years, I know the toll this work can take on our personal and professional lives — from the way we serve our clients, to our marriages, our relationships and parenting, to the way we view the world. I also know how critical it is that we stay attuned to our own patterns and regularly engage in our own self work to be healthy for ourselves and for our clients.

It’s why I started therapy as an MSW graduate student and why I see a therapist regularly now. As a therapist dedicated to those in the helping professions, I realize how vital it is to be able to process your stuff in a space where you are understood without feeling patronized, judged, or diminished. It’s my honor to hold that space for you, so you can do the same for those you help.
